Homesickness - Whisper to yourself, “Welcome home.”

Homesickness

 Whisper to yourself, “Welcome home.”

I am like many of you that stare out into the night sky and cannot resist the feeling of awe and inspiration that takes over your thought process.  How big is the universe?  How many stars are there? How do you wrap your head around the numbers that scientists use to describe the immensity of the distances in space?   But what one experiences, especially if you allow your thoughts to reach you spiritually, is this intense longing and desire.  If you let those feelings settle into your energy and your spirit long enough, you will realize that the desire is to remember.  What is it that you are trying to remember?  It’s not a desire to gain knowledge about the universe because that brings it back into an earthly condition.  That brings it down to numbers and graphs.  No, the feeling belongs to that of something far more intense.  Your spirit knows without doubt that you knew this once… So you’re actually trying to remember.  But what did I know?  All of it.  Where am I trying to get to? Back there.  Back there, where?  Back to where I remember.  Why do I feel this way?  Because deep down inside you know that you belong there.  Why did I leave?  Experience.  We needed the kind of experience that only comes from having ‘been there and done that. ‘ And we were invited to take on this experience so that all we knew would have much more value to us.

That’s where we are right now;  on the earth, in a physical body, surrounded by creations and part of all of those creations.  This experience is for our benefit and for our learning.  So while you might be struggling with your life experience, remember this:  it was all designed for you specifically.  Your path and your experience is yours alone – to bless you.  That may be hard for you to wrap your head and your emotions around.  Life is incredibly painful sometimes. But taking ownership of this truth will actually help free you from that pain. It’s all for you.  It’s all mean to bless you – The stars, the tree, the sky, the wind, the storm, the sunshine, the river, the bear, the bird, the grass, the flower, the tears, the pain, the happiness, and the joy.

So the next time you go out at night and gaze up into the stars, allow yourself to be carried away in the moment.  Find connection with that vastness and soar away into it. Spend time in it.  Breathe it in.   Then bring that vastness back down to Earth to be with you.  Whisper to yourself, “Welcome home.”
